Note: Before the beginning of Yom Tov, it is necessary to prepare the Eruv Tavshilin. Two cooked foods should be set aside (one baked and one cooked in a pot), and a flame should be lit before the festival and kept burning until at least Friday evening, so that cooking for Shabbat and the lighting of the Shabbat candles may be done from that pre-existing flame.
