Machazor for Yom Kippur

The Jewish Community of Florence follows the Sephardic rite, keeping its traditions as well as local customs alive. This year we are hoping to print theMahzor for Yom Kippur, which will allow the tefillah to be followed more easily during the most important day of the Jewish calendar. We will use the great manuscript bound in silver that was copied at the end of the 1800’s for the Temple of Florence, built in 1882, as a reference, which contains the details of the tefillot in use in the Florence Community, and we will also include an Italian translation of the prayers. We are certain that the publication of the Mahzor will contribute significantly to maintaining the relationship of families living both near and far from our Community with their Jewish identity. Whoever participates in the fundraising with a donation of more than 200 Euro will receive a copy of the Mahzor. Whoever donates more than 500 Euro will receive special mention and a dedication in the book. It is expected that 700 to 1,000 copies will be printed.

Thanks to your contributions, we have collected the necessary funds to print the Machazor for Yom Kippur, for 900 copies, to follow more easily during the most important day of the Jewish calendar, maintaining alive the customs and traditions of the Spanish ritual, which the Jewish Community of Florence follows.

The following was taken as a reference of the great manuscript bound in silver that was copied at the end of the 1800’s for the Temple of Florence, built in 1882, which contains the details of the tefillot in use at our Community, and we have included an Italian translation of the prayers.
With this publication we have contributed significantly to maintaining the relationship of families living both near and far with their Jewish identity.
Whoever participated in the fundraising with a donation of more than 300 Euros, has received a copy of the Mahzor. Whoever donated more than 500 Euros, a dedication was included within the book.
